Welcome to my curly girl page. I am happy to impart everything I have learned over the last 18 months of being a curly girl. Growing up I always dreamed of having curly hair but never knew that my extremely subtle wave could become 3C curly hair with the proper technique and tutuorials. When I was hounger, I use to have my hair permed to acheive my hair dreams. Spending countless hours reserching can be time consuming. I have tried a lot of products and tutorials. Here are my favoite tips I have learned and created. I hope and pray that these will help you to acheive your hair goals and you will feel beautiful, confident, and gorgeous.
I prefer to only use natural, and cruelty free products. And I always make sure to use products that are CGM approved. No silicones, and sulfates. I like to take it a step further and do not use parabemns, synthetics fragrances, and carcogenic chemicals. I have used various products but the ones that I prefer are Eco Slay Orange Marmalade, and Innersense. Deva Curl products made my hair flat, lifeless, and my hair competley stopped curling in the dry summer. Once I switched to the Innersense 14 day hair detox, my hair sprung up with gorgrous coils on the first wash. Over the 14 wash cycle, my hair was buildup free, curlier, bouncy, and voluminous. Once I started adding Eco Slay Orange Marmalade, my hair held all day and was shinier and almost looked glossy. These products are completely natural and healthy for my hair, my oragans, and the environment.

Step One: Wash
I wash with all Innersense Products. To find our which Innersense products are best for your hair type, please email your hair pictures, hair goals, texture, and type to: info@innersensebeauty.com
I clarify with Apple Cider Vinegar diluted in water as needed. (1 x per month)
I deep condition with Innersense Hydrating Hair Masque as needed. (1 x per month)
Fermented rice water rinse as needed. (1 x per month)
How to Wash:
Soak Hair thoroughly with water.
Wash with Color Awakening Hairbath ( I do not have dyed hair this is the prouct that Innersense recommended for me for my hair type.)
Scrub scalp with a scalp scrubber and rinse thoroughly.
Apply Innersense Color Radiance Daily Conditioner and let sit for a few minutes. Then I gently detangle with tangle teezer. Turn hair upside down and brush with tangle teezer so hair is pointed evenly to the bottom of the tub. I rinse thoroughly with very cold water, making sure to get the conditioner out of the scalp still upside down squishing the conditioner until all conditioner is out of my hair. Some have great results leaving the conditioner in their hair. Since my hair is fine, it is best for me to remove the conditioner.
Step Two: Product Application
I style with all Innersense products and Eco Slay Orange Marmalade. I do not need to use all of these products. You may experience with only a couple of them. It is important to note that I use an extremely small amount of each product and these bottles last me roughly 10 months and I have very long hair and wash and style often.
Still while my hair is upside down from rinsing out the conditioner. I squish and purlse repeatedly to remove the excessive water. Then I start to add products.
I brush my hair with a Denman brush still upside down. I part the back of my hair so it goes over my shoulders and the rest of my hair so it goes around my head and the past portion in the front over my face. I use praying hands to put all of the product in.
Step 1.) Innersense I Create Quiet Calm Curl Control
Step 2.) I Create Volume
Step 3.) I Create Lift
Step 4.) I Create Hold
Step 5.) Eco Slay Orange Marmalade
I use the Denman brush at the end again and I pulse, bounce and scrunch the products in until I form waves, and then spirals.
Then I put my hair into a wet plop which is a shower cap to keep the curls hydrated and coiled while I finish my shower. I try to keep my hair in a wet plop from 15-20 minutes.
Next, I remove the shower cap carefully and put my hair directly into a T-shirt on the bed making sure that each spiral stays perfectly coiled.
It is recommended by Lorraine Massey from the curly girl book, to diffuse on medium heat or low heat but never high heat as that damages the hair. Then I diffuse downward drying my scalp and roots first and then blow drying the coils downward until they are hard and in a cast. This helps them keep their curl and perfect spiraly coil. After my scalp is dry and the coils are casted, I put my hair right side up and keep diffusing one side to the other. Hair all the way to the left and not hair all the way unto the right until I am almost all the way dry. Sometimes I hold the diffuser at the middle of my hair and pull up to get more volume.
Then I remove the wet look by clapping or scrunching out the crunch by clapping my hair from tip to roots. I scrunch only as needed. It is best to do with this with a tshirt, or tshirt textured gloves. Or you may do this with your bair hands however be careful you are not causing frizz.
Then fluff hair at the roots to get more volume with a hair fluffer. Or you may use Deva Curl hair clips to add volume. I do not do this as I feel it compromises my coils.
